This pilot project is testing how a WhatsApp-based chatbot can support smallholder farmers in Uttar Pradesh with timely, reliable agricultural advice. The project trains Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) to promote the tool, gathers farmer feedback to improve its design, and studies how much farmers trust and use AI-generated advice compared to traditional human guidance. By combining technology with local expertise, the project aims to strengthen farmer services, improve decision-making, and explore scalable ways to bring digital advisory support to rural communities.
