Project Details
A recent array of innovations involving smart, digital sensors, offer the promise of enabling farmers to optimize irrigation in a way that can save increasingly scarce water while improving crop yields. However, these technologies are hardly used by small-scale farmers in low and middle income countries, even though they face severe water scarcity.
We successfully piloted the installation and use of a technology of this type developed by the company Supplant among Mango growers in Andhra Pradesh, India.
